For the fifth year running, SKF is the main partner of the Gothia Cup, the world's largest youth soccer tournament with over 30,000 boys and girls and around 1,600 teams participating from all over the world. The Gothia Cup takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden between 19 and 24 July.

Each year prior to the tournament, SKF arrange a series of local soccer tournaments in certain countries, called Meet the World, to select the teams that will come to the Gothia Cup. This year, Meet the World tournaments have been arranged in 18 countries - Albania, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa and Zambia.

So far, approximately 12,000 youths from 29 countries have participated in the Meet the World tournaments.

- SKF aims to take an active role in community care projects wherever we are represented. With Meet the World and the Gothia Cup we have the opportunity to help and support young people in their interest in soccer. These create global meeting places for young people regardless of culture, gender, religion and social background which is very much in line with our values. At the same time we establish contact with young people that could become our future employees, customers and suppliers, says Tom Johnstone, SKF President and CEO.

- The partnership with SKF has provided us with great financial security, thereby enabling us to strategically develop the Gothia Cup into what it has become today: A venue for youth from all over the world, says Dennis Andersson, General Secretary of the Gothia Cup.
